Crossroads ReadVerify™ Appliance (RVA) proactively validates the integrity of tape backup systems and provides a simple, real-time way to monitor, track and report on performance, utilization and health of tape devices and tape media. Customers using RVA are assured of the physical integrity of the tape media while ensuring data can be read in the event of a recovery.

Looking For a Solution to Maximize Tape Backups While Minimizing Failures?

RVA offers the ability to proactively maximize performance of tape backup systems while minimizing exposure and failures that often come with tape backups. By providing visibility into the causes of incomplete or failed backups, RVA can help address media and hardware exposures before they cause catastrophic failure and threaten the viability of an organization.

How Does RVA Work?

RVA is a stand-alone appliance that proactively monitors tape backups and reports cartridge and drive statistics collected during backup operations. It provides insight into an organization’s media utilization and the health of its backup environment. RVA automatic alerting and reporting functionality provides information on impending media and drive failures as well as overall utilization and performance of tape media and drives. Reports can be used for load balancing and to proactively address media and hardware failure exposure before they threaten the organization’s backup health.

How Do I Reduce the Risk of Losing Data?

With the newly-launched ArchiveVerify™ (AV), an optional feature for RVA, you can reduce the risk of losing your data stored on tape and lower costs associated with backup and archive. Your organization can now be assured that data written to tape can be read—verification procedures are automatically initiated and analysis is conducted on the entire written length of tape media. Reporting capabilities help fulfill requirements for Service Level Agreements and regulatory compliance audits.

“RVA has provided statistical data on the health of our tape storage infrastructure and allowed us to achieve significant improvement in the performance and utilization of our backup and archival resources.”
